We have two clubs at today’s BCGBA World Club Championship at Stretton at 11 a.m. County Cup winners Sir John Bayley travel there along with Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League champions Castlefields. The Fields take on Attleborough Sports first game, while the Bayley have a tough opener against Yorkshire’s Thongsbridge. Fields stand in skipper Jon Palmer says “as always we are looking forward to the challenge of the World Team Championships, a competition that the club has a rich history in. Although being in a tough section of the draw on a notoriously difficult green, we go to Stretton with a strong side and in good form so are hopeful of a good run.”
