Glynn Hill Club Championship – County Cup
- The competition shall be confined to Clubs affiliated to the S.C.G.B.A.
- The winning team will awarded the Glyn Hill Trophy and the losing finalist shall be awarded the “Jack Smout Cup”. Both trophies to be returned by the AGM each year to the Competition Secretary.
- Clubs will receive an Invoice for the entry fee which is £20.
- All games to be played 21 up under B.C.G.B.A. rules and standard jacks to be used. The number of players in each team shall be twelve.
- A redraw for each round will take place at least 7 days before the next round by the sub-committee, which shall consist of 5 people. A minimum of 3 people to make a decision who shall make draws, select neutral greens and make decision as a team – no one person shall make a decision alone. All greens are considered to be neutral to a player except that of a club he or she has elected to play for.
- All clubs on who’s green a cup tie is played shall provide not less than four standard jacks and a tape measure (19 Metres) as required by the BCGBA. They must instruct their greenkeeper that the green must be cut on match day.
- Each club competing shall make a donation to the host club for greenage of £1 per player (£12 per team) This amount to be reviewed annually.
- All rounds up to the semi-finals shall be played on Wednesdays at 7pm. and on such dates as shall be fixed by the County Executive. Both semi-finals shall be played on the same Saturday, dates to be set and approved at the January County Executive meeting. Both semi-finals and final to start at 6.30pm.
- In each match up to the final both captains will jointly act as a referee. For the Final the Referees Delegate shall make the appointment of a referee. BCGBA Dress Code will apply for the final only. The referee will decide which players are properly attired and permitted to play.
- The draw shall be made before each match by the rival captains, who will toss a coin to decided which team has odd or even numbers for first delivery of the jack. For the final each team needs to submit their playing order to bowlsresults.co.uk at least a week before the date of the final.
- a)Teams withdrawing within 24 hrs of their Glyn Hill County Cup match must notify the competition committee, opposing teams and match venue. The withdrawing team will be liable to a £25 fine which will go to the host venue to allow for greenkeeper/ staffing.
b)Any team not fulfilling a fixture or not turning up at any venue will be fined £50 and banned from the competition the following year. Fine will be split between the host club and the County.
c)Any player or supporter found to be consuming alcohol not purchased at a venue with licensed premises will be asked to leave immediately and liable to a £25 fine being imposed for each indiscretion. This fine will go to the host venue in way of compensation. - The aggregate score shall decide the match. In the event of a tie in aggregate, the match shall be decided by firstly, the most number of individual wins per team and secondly, by each teams best score in descending order. If the game is still tied after these criteria, clubs will be requested to replay, with the Cup Sub-Committee deciding the venue and date of such a replay.
- a) The winning team captain shall be responsible for completing the online result sheet and entering the result on the bowlsresults.co.uk no later than 10am the following day. Failure to do so will result in a fine of £5.
b)Both teams must retain the score cards for 7 days in case of a dispute.
c)Any dispute must be lodged within 48 hours of the match being played. - a) No player shall play on a green chosen for a cup tie in which he/she will take part for seven days prior to that cup tie. (League fixtures arranged before 1st May and County events accepted).
b) No player shall be allowed to play for more than one club in either competition.
c) A player must have played at least one league game in the current season, in a league affiliated to SCGBA for that club before the first round.
d) A player must have played at least four league games for that club in the current season, in one or a combination of leagues affiliated to the SCGBA, before the Quarter Finals, six before the Semi Finals and eight before the Final. - Qualification criteria for the World Club Championships shall be in the first instance, winners of the County Cup and winners of the Shropshire Premier League each year. Should the same club win both titles in the same season, the losing finalist in the County Cup shall qualify, If that club declines, the runner up in the Shropshire Premier League shall qualify.
- Any question arising not provided for in the foregoing rules shall be dealt with by the Management Committee whose decision shall be final.
