Please note:
Your DBS number is on the form you receive when you have been checked.
Please note clearance is for 3 years only you must then reapply.
- You must be DBS checked through the BCGBA (even if you are already checked previously for work or another sport) this check is quick and easy to do at no cost to yourself (other than postal charges and travel expenses if applicable.)
- If you have not been DBS checked or need to reapply please contact Phil Scott.
- On receipt of your DBS you have must send a copy to the DBS Checker within 28 days of its release from the DBS otherwise a £25 fine per week of non-compliance will be given.
- You can now sign up for the update service, which means it updates aut0matically each year. The details are below.

Please be advised that All Safeguarding Officers within the BCGBA are required to have a valid DBS Certificate relating to their posts and ALL DBS certificates due to expire in the 2026 season should now be renewed at the following face to face DBS Check Session. This session will be held on Saturday 21st February 2026 at The Sir John Bayley Club, 23 Haygate Road, Whitchurch, TF1 1QX from 8am. DBS check appointments are now available to book here DBS Certificate expire 3 years from the date of issue.
When attending your appointment your will need to bring proof of ID, Passport, Driving License, Utility bill and National Insurance Number. If you do not bring official documents to the appointment your application will not be processed on the day.
