Sunday Senior Merit Qualifiers Preview

There are 20 qualifying spaces left today at four venues for the Shropshire Senior Merit.

At Bicton there are six qualifiers from the 16 players. Former winner Rich Goddard is still there along with former County Handicap winner Adie Rowe. Wayne Rogers and Kiah Roberts are both former Senior Merit winners with Ash Wellings a former Semi Finalist.

At Monkmoor there are five qualifiers from 13 players with three time Champion Callum Wraight looking to add a four triumph to his list. Chris Jones has just broken into the County squad, and Mark Shore is a serial qualifier in this. Will Tarrell was finalist in this in 2021.

At Donnington Wood there are four qualifers from 10 with two time Champion Spencer Clarke along with another former winner in Rob Roden. Tony Rhodes has reached the Semi Finals numerous times in this, while Pete Grimston is a former Donnington lad there.

There is a tough field at Madeley CC with 5 qualifiers from 13 as 6 time winner Pete Farmer there as well as another former winner Dave Lloyd. Jamie King lost in the final last season, when Harry Church reached the Semi Finals. Other county players Tom Roden, Martin Gaut and Scott Harries start their quest to win this for the first time.
