Shropshire take on Merseyside today knowing a win will put one foot in the Semi Finals. Both teams opened up with a 13 shot win last game and will be both confident of a win. It may be a case of who adapts better to the rain at the two venues; Hanmer and Carr Mill. Merseyside have won the last two clashes so we will hope for third time lucky this time around. Will Tarrell comes in for his home debut on Hanmer having been impressive in the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League so far this season, being the only change from the last game.

On behalf of the SCGBA and our host club, may I welcome everyone here today to Hanmer Bowling Club for this, our Section 3 group match in the Endsleigh Insurance sponsored County Championship 2022.
I would also like to extend a very warm welcome our guests today, the players & officials from Merseyside CCGBA.
Following on from the opening matches on the first day of May that saw our Shropshire players over power South Yorkshire by 13 chalks and Merseyside savouring their own success over Cumbria by the same margin that leaves it finely balanced with both counties sitting proudly on top of the Group.
Today, will almost certainly prove be the match of the group, that will see the victorious side take “pole position” in the race to be Group winners next month, and earn themselves a coveted Semi-Final place in this year’s competition.
With thanks to the members of Hanmer, Referee, Measurers and all Players for what we hope will be a match to remember.
