Please find below information about parking at Newport Bowling Club for the Senior and Junior County matches on Sundays 1st and 8th May from Newport secretary Steve Anyon.
Car parking may be an issue, as the adjacent cricket club have a match on the same day, theirs starts at 13.00. It may be possible for a few cars to be parked at the Cricket Club, but being a Bank Holiday, they won’t know the crowd until the day.
So, I have arranged with the nearby (200yds) Burton Borough School to pay for their Car Park to be available between 11.30 and 19.00 on the day.
Could you ask all Shropshire players and visitors, and pass this on to South Yorkshire, to use Burton Borough School’s car park. Post code for sat nav TF10 7DS.
Since the last County match, due to complaints re parking from locals, the council have put double yellow lines almost everywhere. So, it is very important that the school car park be used.
For the Junior County Match on May 8th the club will also pay for the car park at the school, however, there are no cricket fixtures on that date, so it will be a little easier re parking.
