North Shropshire Area Merit Qualifiers

Two former runners-up of the Shropshire Senior Merit will be looking to go one better as they qualified tonight on Bridgewater no.1. Keith Wall had a tough draw against former winner Martin Lloyd but beat him 16. Rich Lawson is a two time runner-up and defeated Carl Hinton 5 and Alan Boulton 15, who had beaten Chris Stretch 19 in his first game. The other two qualifiers were Scott Moseley, who beat Melvyn Jenkins 10, and Gary Beff who got past Richard Lockett 8.

On Bridgewater no.2, and former Junior Merit winner Ben Hinton qualified after beating Steve Dance 16. Martin Gaut got through by beating Cedric Bancroft 5, along with Ian MacDonald who defeated Jamie Brookes 10. Andy Marshall qualified by defeating Clay Flattley 20 and Will Childs 7, who had beaten Ed Proudlove 16 in his first game.

Well done to all 8 qualifiers, who go forward to finals day on Sunday 25th June at 11 a.m.
