It will be an emotional night at Childs Ercall as Castlefields take on Hadley USC in the Semi Finals of the KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup. Captain Graham Wall says “we look ahead to tomorrow’s semi final in completely different scope to just over a week ago after losing a valued club member Steve Walker (Hooky) yesterday, we compete tonight in his honour and look to compete against a very good Hadley side for a place in yet another Shropshire Cup final.” Opposition skipper Nick Wyer says “we’re looking forward to a difficult match tomorrow against a very good Castlefields side. We will have to perform better than we have in recent weeks but are very positive going in to the tie. We have got our usual 10 playing so there will be no excuses for us. Our condolences go out to Castlefields on the sad loss of Steve Walker.”
The other tie sees an all North Shropshire clash between two of the top three in the Market Drayton League at Nantwich Park Road. Bridgewater captain Matt Blackhurst says “unlike many of the games we have in this competition we know all about the task in front of us. Woore are without doubt a solid side from 1 to 10 and we’ll need to be at our best to progress. We’re having to make some changes from the last round for various reasons but we go in knowing if things go our way we threaten an upset.” Woore skipper Dan Hand says “this is a big game for us against a team we know a lot about. Bridgewater are a really good side and one we will certainly not be taking for granted. However we are positive about our chances of progressing on a green which is normally in really good condition.”
All players must have played at least 6 league games in any league for that club to be eligible.
Players who have played more than 4 games in the Premier League are ineligible to play.
If any player has represented their county in the BCGBA Senior Men County championships in the current season or played the previous year, they are not eligible for selection.
