KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup Quarter Final Preview

There are 6 teams looking to book the three Semi Final spots in the KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup Semi Finals as The Rhyn have withdrawn giving Shifnal a bye into the Semi Finals. Previous winners Prince of Wales face former Consolation Cup winners Horsehay at Chester Road. Horsehay skipper Andy Garbett says “we have had a good start to the season and have got Gareth Jones in form. We have got a good addition to our side in Chris Grocott as well, but we don’t know much about the green or opposition.” Sir John Bayley meet Adderley in what promises to be a close clash on Hanwood. Bayley captain Michael Cooper knows it is “going to be a tough game especially as we don’t know a lot about Adderley but we are aware they are a really good team. We know it’s going to be tough on a tricky Hanwood green but am sure it’s going to be a cracking game.” Hadnall will be underdogs as they play Castlefields on Sir John Bayley bottom green. Hadnall skipper Tim Jordan admits “we clearly go into the game as underdogs against a strong and experienced Castlefields. However we managed to edge past last year’s winners Newport in the last round so we look forward to another challenge. Not many at the club have played the green but we will try to enjoy the experience.”
