Sinclair and Woore aim to win the KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup for the first time tonight as they battle at Telepost at 6.30 p.m.
Both teams are top of the Mid Shropshire and Market Drayton Leagues, and come into it in good form with both looking to make this the start of a double success. Sinclair captain Harry Church is “looking forward to our first final as a team, the draw has gone pretty even I think so we should be in for a high quality tight game with 2 real good sides.” Woore skipper Dan Hand comments “we have made it to the final and will now face a very good Sinclair side. We are missing four players for this game through ineligibility and holidays but I’m confident we can go and get the result we all want. I’m sure it will be a good one for the spectators and I’d like to wish my Rhinos the best of luck.”
Despite both teams missing players who have played Senior County this or last season, and meaning we could have missed out on a renewal of the battls between Pete Farmer and Andy Moss, both teams still have quality players. Woore have the more experience with players such as Shropshire Merit winner Derek Wright, and Gary Beff, Steve Rogers, Ian Macdonald and Paul Smith having all played for a number of seasons in the Premier League, as well as Junior Merit winner Ben Hinton. But Sinclair have a lot of talent in their side such as Mid Shropshire Merit winners Harry and Stuart Church, Mid Shropshire Under 25 Merit winner Jordan Millman and Junior Merit winner Ash Gregory.
Dan Williams against Gary Beff is the pick of the games at number one, with Dan the only former homester in the lineups, and Jordan Millman against Cedric Bancroft a contrast of playing styles at number 7!
