Division One Trench survived a scare against Division Three Charlton as they drew the aggregate and winners at Maddocks, but won on best winner. Captain Pete Millington said “although we were without a few of our first team players last night credit to Charlton they pushed us all the way on a very tricky green weight wise and trying to miss certain bumps!” Their best winner was Paul Palin 9, with Charlton’s best being Douglas Wallace 12. Sinclair won the battle of last year’s top two in the Mid Shropshire League as they came out by 34 on Broseley. Captain Harry Church says “it was a good team performance after only being 2 up after the front 4. The middle 4 really dug in and played well to put us in the lead and a big win at the back for us secured us the win. Good luck to Shifnal for the rest of the season.” Best winner was Simon Madeley 4, with Shifnal’s best being Paul Reeves 10. Hadley USC earned their first win of the season by beating Allscott Heath by 10. John Lumsden and Kath Lycett were their best winners 10, with Allscott’s best being Daniel Bretnall 10. Chester Road beat Horsehay by 42 on Monkmoor, Paul Fowles best winner 10, while Peter Hayward was Horsehay’s best winning 7. Newport earned the biggest win of the night against Greenfields by 125, having 7 single figure winners led by Phil Emery winning 2. Scott Lane did win for Greenfields 21-19.
