Alan Purcell rolled back the years as he won the 2022 County Handicap today at Old Shrewsbury. The Chester Road and former County player beat Jon Mansell of Crescent in the final 18 after defeating Hanwood’s Ash Wellings by the same score in the Semi Finals. Jon had an incredible success over another Hanwood player in county bowler Rich Lawson 21-4 after leading 15-0. Alan had another 18 win in the Quarter Finals over another county player in Andy Judson, while Jon defeated Harry Parsonage 5, Ash beat James Blair 14 and Rich got past Dave Redge 19.
Tom Killen won the Clare Cup for best novice as he just missed out on reaching the Quarter Finals.
