KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup Quarter Final Preview

8 teams remain in the Quarter Finals of the KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup looking for a Semi Final place. Woore did make the Semi Finals last season, but know they will a tough tie against Prince of Wales Hotel on the Bowring. Prince captain Danny Wornell says “we are missing a couple and will be underdogs especially with our bad league form but in a one off game you never know!” Castlefields also made the Semi Finals last season, and take on Hodnet at Broseley in what won’t be an easy game, Hodnet possessing experienced players like John Breeze and Mick Jones. Wrockwardine Wood reached the final in 2023, but know taking on Mid Shropshire title challengers Newport won’t be easy. Captain Steve Faulkner says it is “a tough one to call between evenly matched sides on a neutral green. We obviously fancy our chances, but without the strength of our Premier players we are obviously a bit weaker.” Mid Shropshire League leaders Sinclair take on Battlefield at Bridgewater as they look to continue their quest for a double. Battlefield will need to be top of their game to cause a big upset.
