The Veterans Inter League was won for a record 7th time by the Mid Shropshire League. Their A team defeated the Premier League Blue side by 20 today, after the 20 shot handicap had been applied. They were comfortable with the added cushion, Roy Bradburn winning 16 to put them 22 ahead after Dave Brown got back to 19 against Julian Cooke from 14-8 behind and Dave Price got 20 off Dave Redge. The Premier League never threatened to get back into it after Ian Evans won 15 for Mid Shropshire, despite Mark Thomas winning 14 for them and Rob Renke winning 20 from 18-10 down.
In the Semi Finals Mid Shropshire A beat Tanners Ladies by 39 with five winners led by Dave Price’s 9 win. Wendy Jones was the Tanners winner 18. Premier League Blue beat their fellow Yellow side by 34 with 5 winners, best winner being Dave Redge 9, Yellow’s winner being Phil Lyttle 19.
The groups saw Mid Shropshire beat Tanners B by 16 and Ludlow B by 51 at Castlefields, while the closest group was on the other green which saw Tanners Ladies get through on aggregate after beating Mid Shropshire B by 18 and then losing to NSVCGBA C by 7. At Meole Brace both Premier League teams won all their games. The Blue side beat NSVCGBA B by 10, Oswestry by 31 and Ludlow B by 23. The Yellow side defeated Tanners A by 17 and beat NSVCGBA A by 1 to go through
