There are two ties in the 1st round of the KGJ Insurance County Cup with two teams aiming to cause big upsets. Sinclair, heavy favourites to win Mid Shropshire Division One this season, take on Premier League St Georges at Edgmond in a repeat of a clash last season, which St Georges won by 34. Sinclair captain Harry Church says “it’s a repeat of last year’s County cup match for us which St Georges won but with both teams very much different it should be a very good game.” The other game sees record winners Castlefields start their quest to win this for the first time in 10 years as they play Wem USC on Donnington Wood. Wem upset the Fields last year in the league at home but know they will be hard pressed to do that against the Premier League Champions.
Ifton have withdrawn from their game against Prince of Wales Hotel due to a lack of players. Prince will receive a bye into the next round, with the draw done following the 1st round of the KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup on Wednesday 21st May.
A reminder all players must have played at least one league game to play in this round.
