Midland Masters Preview

Shropshire have potentially their largest ever contingent going to the Midland Masters with 16 players taking part, a quarter of the field!

Last year’s runner-up Mike Beer will look to go one further and has Jayne Bates first game. Former winner Jamie King has George Hines first game, with the player he beat in that final, Stuart Rutter, having Martin Davies. Stuart’s wife Jackie has qualified again and plays Mark Melvin, with her Bayley team mates Spencer Clarke, Scott Harries and Dan Taylor playing Ronan Allen, Finn Roche and Adam Ball respectively. Scott Moseley is at the top of the draw and has Joe Wiliamson, with Will Childs just below taking on Stu Perry. Ed Proudlove has Stephen Lediard first, with Pete Griffiths playing Declan Goring, Adrian Whitman having Martin Hallam and former Meole Open winner Andy Hughes taking on Steve Morecroft. Cheryl Caswell has done well in big competitions this year and the Ladies Spring Waterloo champion plays Paul Dale. Adie Rowe takes on a familiar face of Paul Evans, who plays for Shropshire county and Sir John Bayley. Nick Wyer has Richard Eley first game.

Good luck to our 16 players.
