KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup Final Review

Hadley USC won the 2024 KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup Final after a 20 shot win over Bridgewater at Bicton. They took the first 5 winners led by captain Nick Wyer’s 21-8 victory at number one. However Mark Harris of Bridgewater led Ian Pessall 18-3 and captain Matt Blackhurst earned their first win 21-15 to close the deficit. But Ian somehow dug in and won 20, and despite Tom Cooper winning 13 at number 9, it was Hadley who lifted this trophy for the first time.

Captain Nick Wyer said “I was so proud of the team performance on Saturday night, it was so good to see how far the team has progressed in a short space of time. Every player fought for their shots and never let there head go down, after having the first 5 winners and being 33 up the remaining players battled from some difficult positions in their games to get us over the line by 20. As captain I never dreamed of winning a trophy in 1st season back at the club but it was a great team performance from 1-10.”
