The 2024 season may be months away but the flooding River Severn is already causing problems for Shropshire bowlers and affiliated clubs.
Monday’s meeting of the county executive was due to be held at Old Shrewsbury BC, but the club is flooded and off limits.
“Due to the current flooding in Shrewsbury, the venue for Monday night’s executive meeting will need to be moved,” said Shropshire association secretary Dawn Gray.
“Old Shrewsbury BC is currently inaccessible and will most probably not be clear before then – so the new venue will be Meole Brace BC at 7.30pm.”
On the agenda are the Shropshire competition dates for 2024 and the proposals going before the British association’s rules revision meeting.
Also to be finalised are the rule change ideas to be put before the county AGM on Saturday, February 3, at the Salop Unison Club in Shrewsbury (11am start).
