Mike Beer reached the Final of the Midland Masters but lost out to Greg Smith 17. He had led 8-4 but then trailed 19-12 before getting back to 19-17. Rich Lawson had got to the Semi Finals but lost out to Greg 18 after having beaten Pete Cookson 14, Mark Gamsby 13, Darrell Handley 14 and Tom Boyd 17. Mike, on the way to the final, had got past Paul Evans 12, Michael Warrington 14, Bill Kinchin 17, Aaron Tapper 16 and Adam Bell 12. Joe Killen and Clay Flattley got to the last 16 on a very good day for Shropshire bowlers. Clay beat Mark Archer 8, Liam Dennis 7 before losing to Tom Boyd 8, while Joe defeated Shane Day 20, Cody Everitt 19 but lost to Adam Bell 18. His brother Tom got past Dave Hayward 11 but lost to Paul Lamb 20, while Scott Harries won his first game 5 against Andy Grocock before losing to Darrell Handley 9. Jackie Rutter won her first game 20 against Aly Evans but then lost 20 to Rachel Bennett, whereas Pete Farmer beat Matt Allen 17 but lost to Greg 7. Tim Jordan received a bye first game but lost to Aaron Tapper 6 in his second, and Jordan Millman and Paul Williams both lost first round to Darren Carter and Reece Farr respectively.
