The final of the KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup takes place tonight with Castlefields looking to retain the trophy and Wrockwardine Wood looking to win it for the first time. Both teams have beaten four Mid Shropshire teams on their way to the final, getting stronger every round, and whoever adapts to a most likely heavy and wet Chester Road green could be key. The game at number one is an interesting clash between former County Handicap winner Keith Wall and Isle of Man June Festival winner Helen Clee. Phil Jones has been best winner for Wrockwardine the last two round, and has Anthony Gray first four, while Junior Merit winner Rhys Marshall takes on Sian Skelton. Steve Duckett is a stalwart of Castlefields and takes on opposition captain Louise Cotton, with another former Isle of Man Festival winner Ange Gaut playing Dan Jones.
It promises to be a good final tonight. There is a programme available, but there are only limited numbers available. It includes player profiles for both teams as well as a Preview.
There will be live scores here, and hopefully some live coverage here.
Good luck to both teams.
