Quarter-Finals:
In a very tight game Jamie King & Sally Clee against Kieran Jones & Emma Massey-Jones that saw only one end that scored more than a solitary chalk in the first 18 ends that saw Jamie & Sally lead 10-8 and they added more to go 18-9 and soon finished it 21-12. Another tight game between Sarah Weaver & Martin Gaut and Cheryl Caswell & Jamie Taylor that saw the scores go 3-3, 8-8, 13-13and 16-16 but in the end, it was Sarah & Martin that came out on top winning 21-19. Kerry Drew & Harry Church made the brighter start than Allan & Angela Gaut to lead 9-5 but then stalled as Allan & Angela had some big scoring ends and quickly completed their run out in 6 ends to win 21-9.
Sian Skelton & Aaron King fought back from 7-11 against Stuart & Jackie Rutter, to take a 17-13 lead only for Stuart & Jackie to respond and pushed to the edge of winning but were caught as Sian & Aaron won 21-20.
Semi Finals:
Jamie King & Sally Clee were in dominant form as they led Alan & Angela Gaut 7-1 and 11-4 that within 5 more ends saw Jamie & Sally seal their place in the final, winning 21-5.
Meanwhile, in a similar game Sian Skelton & Aaron King from 6-6 against Sarah Weaver & Martin Gaut quickly raced to 15-6 and soon finished their opponents hopes by finishing 21-9
The Final:
Early exchanges in the final were even with the scores at 8-8 until Jamie King & Sally made a break to lead 16-10 and after Sian Skelton & Aaron King almost levelled it was soon over as Jamie & Sally finished off 21-16, enough to give them the title
Competition Secretary, Mike Potter joined President Mike Caddick and thanked the host club, Allscott for supplying a quality green and refreshments before presenting the prizes to the competitors and finally the Dave Card Rose Bowl to the worthy champions, Jamie King & Sally Clee.
