Player Registration

  • The BCGBA have introduced a totally new procedure in respect of the application for new BCGBA Player Registration cards by clubs on behalf of people who wish to take up the game of crown green bowling in Shropshire.
  • Clubs will no longer be able to write to me on club headed paper as they have done in the past, and instead, will be required to download a bespoke application form, which asks for full details of the player applying especially his/her date of birth.
  • A copy of this new form, along with a copy of guidance notes to assist you in completing the ethnicity and illness/disability parts of the form, is attached for your information.

Please include a return address with the form.

  • This form must be used and posted to me with a cheque for the appropriate amount, every time you need to register a new player.
  • The form will be sent to your club secretary. Please ensure that you write their name and address in the box provided.
  • I would stress that all the information asked for on the form, must be given when completing the form, especially your BCGBA club membership number.
  • One other major change in the procedure, is that the card which will be issued by myself, following receipt of the completed application form and cheque for the appropriate amount, is that all players whether male or female  will receive a standard card prefixed with the letters “SH” which denotes Shropshire. No separate ladies’ cards prefixed with the letters “LAD” will be issued in respect of lady applicants as in the past.
  • PLEASE NOTE:  All Applications for new membership cards must be sent to myself.
Finally, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are unsure about any aspect of this procedure. Brian Kitson County Treasurer/Registrar, SCGBA Tel: 01743 367836 (H) Email: Cheques to be made payable to Shropshire Crown Green Bowling Association (SCGBA)
