Castlefields lifted the Glynn Hill Cup after defeating Meole Brace with 7 winning cards and an impressive 64 chalks in the competition final staged on the No.1 green of Old Shrewsbury. Colin Beaman was adjudged the player of the match after shading his game with Rich Goddard where play of the highest quality from each would have been deserving of the prize for either player.
A delighted Castlefields captain, Keith Walton, was quick to acknowledge Meole Brace as very worthy opponents before setting off to celebrate with his team late into the night.
