Junior Merit & Peter Ashton Youth Trophy 2019 Report

Ben Hinton won the 2019 Shropshire Junior Merit at Ash after beating Harry Parsonage in the final 17. He came back from 15-6 and 16-9 down to win the trophy for the first time. In the Semi Finals he led from the front against the winner for the last two years, Harry Church. He was 10-0 and 14-2 up against him and won 8. Harry also had a comfortable Semi Final win versus Charlie Hotchkiss when racing 13-3 up, and virtually ran out from 14-6 up.

In the Peter Ashton Youth Trophy Joe Killen retained the title after beating Josh Warner 9, not looking back after leading 9-1. He got past Kelly Price in his Semi Final 16 in a very close game, only pulling away at 16-15 up. Josh had an even closer game versus Akeel Khan after he came back from 17-8 down to win 19.

Well done to both winners, as well as Harry who joins Ben in representing Shropshire at the British Junior Individual Merit on Saturday 17th August in Cumbria. The draw will be released on here for it tomorrow night.
