Shropshire v Merseyside Senior County Semi Final Preview

Shropshire look for a place in their first final since 2016 as they take on Merseyside. It is a rematch of last year when we suffered a big away defeat at Wheatsheaf in our opening game. However they have already used this green and take us to Clock Face this time around. We have chosen our banker green of Pontesbury, which we didn’t use last season. Selector Mark Shore says “the away side undoubtedly face a tough assignment on Merseyside, where we anticipate an intimidating environment. But we have spoken to the team and they know what to expect and we believe they will dig in to produce the goods to get us over the line. We are delighted we are in the semi-finals, but the hard work starts here. Nothing has been won and we can’t take anything for granted. We will look to build a big score at one of our toughest home venues, Pontesbury, and we have every faith in the men selected to do the job there. It’s these big games that motivate the squad most and all support will be greatly appreciated – both at home and away – to give Shropshire the vocal support to help them reach the final.”

Live scores will be updated here.
