The KGJ Shropshire Cup has reached the Semi Final stage with four clubs wanting to reach the final on Saturday 3rd August. St Georges and Sir John Bayley will look to reach the final for the first time as they meet on an unfamiliar venue of Monkmoor. Sir John Bayley captain Craig Baugh is "looking for another good team performance in what will surely be a closely fought encounter against a St Georges side who are playing well in the Mid Shropshire. I think both teams have a little knowledge between them about Monkmoor so hopefully we get to grips quicker than they do." Opposition skipper Paul Beer says “this is a close one to call with both St Georges and SJB doing well at the top of Div 1. A good neutral Shrewsbury green and hopefully some good weather this evening will enhance what will be a competitive match with plenty of banter from both sides. My team are well up for this semi-final against our good and respected rivals, it will be close”. Telepost and Pontesbury have both been to the final before, but lost out, and so will be desperate to get there again and go one better as they meet on Bowring.
