Meole Brace edged home to make their first KGJ Insurance County Cup Final since 2015. Captain Andy Wigginton commented on the game. "It was a super game and could easily gone the other way. Wem started well and could have been more than 9 up off front if it wasn't for some late battling by our lads. Dave Redge was superb in beating Mike Dulson in the game of the night. In the middle and two big cards for either team with Jon Lyttle excellent in winning 8 for us (to be best winner) and Scott Thomas brilliant against Nige Bound (to be best winner 6). Back 4 started well for us but Wem battled back so it all came down to Tim Jordan who was 17 across with Colin Smith and had to get 19 to see us through. He kept his cool and played two wonder bowl touchers to see us through. He then duly won so we won by 6 and now a chance to win the County Cup for the first time since 1991. Hard luck to Wem though as game played in a great spirit it was just our night in a very close contest."
Meole will play the winners of Bylet and St Georges, who play at their no.2 green on Saturday.
