Midland Masters District Qualifying Preview

The qualifying for the Midland Masters starts tonight with three tickets up for grabs. There are 26 players there, mainly from the North Shropshire area. Derek Wright leads those from the north, as well as West Brom Open semi finalist Gary Beff and experienced veterans like Alan Boulton and Cedric Bancroft. Ian Williams was a surprise qualifier for the merit and will look to repeat that feat again. There are other top players from Shrewsbury and Telford such as Rich Lawson and Wayne Phillips, while Jamie King is a former quarter finalist in this competition. Youngsters Jack Hewitt, Kieran Jones, Curtis Metcalfe and Josh Warner hope to make their mark, along with Scott Moseley, Tim Jordan and Martin Middleton from Meole Brace.
