Shropshire Senior County vs. North Lancs & Fylde Preview

Shropshire will look to make it two wins out of two as they play North Lancs & Fylde in our second group game. We are using Bowring as our home green, which has been a happy hunting ground for us since we first used it in 2016. We beat Merseyside by 43 on it last season, but the visitors do have one player who is familiar with the green. James Grimston played a few games on it for the home side back in 2016, so Glyn Herbert will have his hands full against him. The away team, who did so well in Yorkshire, travel to South Shore Bowling Club, where Mike Beer is number one and up against one of their big guns in Simon Coupe. The selection quartet commented "North Lancs & Fylde will present a formidable challenge on their South Shore green, where they have inflicted heavy defeats on strong teams such as Warwick and Worcester. Our away team will have to be at its very best and our home players will need to make green knowledge count at Bowring, a venue which has also brought significant victories in the past few years. We anticipate another close game, but are confident our team will once deliver again. We have an excellent squad of players and the selection process has not been easy, with several top players yet to make an appearance." There are four changes from the last game, with Tony Rhodes, Keith Wall and Martin Williams returning to the side after a long time out, while Dave Lloyd comes back in on his former green after missing the last game. Support will be much appreciated at both legs, with scores being updated here hopefully. Good luck to the team.
