Wrockwardine Wood Open Finals Day Preview

There is a quality field assembled for the last major competition of the season at Wrockwardine Wood, with six of the players from our league taking part. Former finalist and semi finalist Mike Beer of Castlefields is favourite to finally add this trophy to his collection, and faces Simon Homer of Staffordshire first game. There are two former winners in the field, Scott Simpson and Pete Farmer of Newport, who play Burway's Wayne Rogers and Neil Kershaw of Hanmer respectively. There is another clash from our two players with Scott Harries of Bylet taking on Bowring's Ayden Smith. Other ties include former All England winner Darren Plenderleith, who is second favourite, playing youngster Jordan Patrick. Jordan's brother Adam takes on Nathan Dawes in what promises to be a close tussle, while Yorkshire's Ashley Tattersley makes the long trip back to take on Russ Prosser. Warwick and Worcester Merit winner Carl Fielding takes on Ben Lynch. Hopefully there will be live scores here.
