Highley win KGJ Shropshire Cup Final

Highley won their first ever KGJ Insurance Shropshire Cup final by beating 2016 winners Prince Hotel by 19 overall. They led all the way, with Geoff Wylde coming back from an early deficit to win 15 and Andy Jones doing the same to lead by 11. Two single figure winners in the middle were crucial, Dave East winning 7 and reserve Greg Carr 9. But Graeme Wornell won 9 for the Prince to keep them in it just about but Highley led by 27. Once Ian Thompson won 13 it was virtually all over, and Prince had the last two winners to close the gap, but it was Highley who enjoyed their best night in their history. Full scores are here.
