Clay has plenty of competition experience as he travels up and down the country over the last few seasons. He has won some of them too, including the Woodley Classic last season and the Jim Halstead Trophy at Allens Green this. He has plenty of support from his Mum and Dad who go watch him, and has enjoyed a good start to the season, winning 9 out of 12. Can he finally make his mark on this competition?

Tony is a very experienced player, having played county bowls and Premier League since it was formed. He has been a very consistent player for St Georges in the Premier League, winning the League Averages in 1997, a year after winning the League Merit. He won the father and son in 2016 with son Matthew, and reached the Semi Finals of this back in 2011, and would love to return to that kind of form. He has enjoyed a good start to the season too, currently on the same wins as his opponent!

Duncan helped Burway into the Premier League for the 2012 season and been a consistent player for them since. He has enjoyed a solid start to the season this one, and is a former winner of the Ludlow League Merit.

Charlie was the 2001 winner at Craven Arms and is back for a second successive finals day after moving out of the county back in 2011. He won the lot with Chester Road before then, but has now been taking it easy at Woore since he moved back over here, winning more trophies as he helped them to Whitchurch League success.

Mike is a former Crosfield Cup winner in 2009 and has been a consistent performer over the years at Meole Brace and now at Wem USC. His league form hasn't been great in recent years but he has won the Newport Open in 2013, showing he can go far in competitions.

Adam warmed up for today by reaching the Semi Finals of the Ellesmere Open, a year after reaching the final there. He is now a regular performer for Castlefields’ Premier League team, having helped them win the league last season, but has not reached those heights so far this season.

Wayne has won plenty of open titles, including the Pontesbury Open, but has yet to make his breakthrough in this competition. He is a very experienced player with over 100 caps for Shropshire. He has enjoyed a good start to the season with Hanwood, having helped them up into the Premier League, after previous playing spells for Meole Brace and Castlefields.

Scott, with his trademark long hair, has been one of our top young players, winning the Premier League Averages in 2014, as well as the Bowring Open. He has gone back to his home club Bylet after a winning spell at Newport, including the County Cup and Premier League, and has started the season excellently this time around. He has played many county games also, for Staffordshire and Shropshire, giving him plenty of experience on the big stage.
