Senior Inter League 2018 Report

Whitchurch lived up to their billing as favourites as they won their home Senior Inter League by 6 shots from the Tanners League. They didn't have it all their own way in the final though, trailing by 2 chalks after four games off after man of the match Chris Jones beat homester Martin Lloyd 12. But Neil Boxall won 10 and Paul Latham 12 to win the match by 6 despite the games being shared. In the Semi Finals on District front green Whitchurch breezed through against Market Drayton with 7 winners, Martin Lloyd their best 21-7 despite playing a fellow team mate in Matt Beeston, with only Andrew Davies won for Market Drayton 17. The other semi was much closer, with Mid Shropshire 9 up off 3, with Rich Lawson winning 11, and then 3 down off 5 against the Tanners League with Will Tyler and Dan Jones both winning 15. Tanners then had the last two winners to win by 11 overall. In the groups and Whitchurch won their group easily, with just 4 losers from their 3 games. Tanners won their other two games comfortably, with North Shropshire Ladies making sure they finished 3rd with a last group game win over Mid Shropshire B. In Group B and Mid Shropshire A edged a thriller with Whitchurch B, Cheryl Caswell the hero winning 14 last on, and then won their other two group games.
