Highlights from the Quarter Finals Homesters, Simon Hall & Adrian Bailey found the going was very tough as from 3-4 down turned quickly into 3-13 against Stuart Clee & Josh Bradburn who then went on to win 21-6. After an even 4-4 start, Ian Thomas & Steve Downes moved into a 7-5 lead over Steve Bishton & Richard Suggett but then stalled and failed to add to their tally as Steve & Richard ran out 21-7 winners In another evenly matched game between Sally Clee & Phil King and John Potter & Nick Mullinder that saw the scores go from 5-5, 8-8 and on to 13-13, before Sally & Phil piled the pressure on adding two triple scoring ends as they completed a run out 21-13. Stuart Rutter & Dan Taylor fought back strongly from 3-12 and 7-18 down to pip Jamie King & Scott Harries and post a 21-20 card. Highlights from the Semi-Finals As the daylight faded the semi finals began with Stuart Clee & Josh Bradburn carrying on from their previous game as they raced into from 2-2 with Richard Suggett & Steve Bishton into a 9-2 lead that quickly turned to 19-3 and a 21-4 result. Meanwhile, Stuart Rutter & Dan Taylor were enjoying taking their score from 8-1 up to leading 15-4 before Sally Clee & Phil King hit back to close to trail 12-15 but could only add one more chalk as they conceded a full house 4 that saw Stuart & Josh win 21-13. Highlights from the Final The final saw Stuart Rutter & Dan Taylor, from 0-4 down stretch into the corners to lead 14-7(15ends) as Stuart Clee & Josh Bradburn tried to get onto their preferred across the middle of the green mark. But it was only after a playing order switch where Clee changed to using the same corner as their opponents but leading well on a shorter, just over the crown and back mark as they fought back and into a 17-14(21ends) lead of their own. And it was only with a playing order change of their own that proved to be decisive as Rutter & Taylor won the next three ends and run out 21-17(24ends) that ended the 12hrs of action at the Telford venue. Club Chairman, Don Hood thanked organiser Stuart Church, club members for providing refreshments and referee before presenting the cash prizes to the worthy competitors.
