Good luck to St Georges at BCGBA World Club Championships

St Georges take their place in the BCGBA World Club Championship at Fox Lane in Leyland looking to make their mark on the tournament that they've played in many times before. They earned their right to play by winning the KGJ Insurance County Cup last season but have had some major changes since that game. Joint captains Ian Gaut, Dave King, Nige Evans and Lewis Scott have been appointed but could be without Glyn Picknell and Mike Wainwright who are taking time out from the game. They still have plenty of experience in the squad, with Tony Rhodes, Clay Flattley, Pete Grimston and Jim Kellett having all played in it before in addition to the captains. They take on Green Castle S & SC from Cheshire, a team they won't know much about. If they progress then a tough game against Garswood Hall, former winners of this competition under its previous name, could await. The SCGBA would like to wish St Georges all the best. There may be live scores here. Sunday 1 April 2018 No.1 Green Castle S & SC (Cheshire) v St Georges (Shropshire) Garswood Hall (Lancashire) v Queens Park (Potteries & District) No.2 Green Gladstone (Merseyside) v Hoghton (North Lancs & Fylde) Dukinfield Central (Greater Manchester) v Haunchwood (North Midlands)
