St Georges Open Good Friday Preview

There are four spaces available in the finals of the St Georges Open that will be decided today. The morning session sees Warwick and Worcester stars Carl Fielding and Phil Clinton take part. Phil is an ex homester but is not alone as Jamie Wyer and Mark Taylor are both ex-dragons looking to use green knowledge. Steve Pratt is another big name there, with young guns Dave Lloyd, Danny Ferris and Ryan Walters also featuring ,the latter causing a shock at Meole Brace last week. Roy Bradburn is someone who plays the green well and features, as well as Ian MacDonald from North Shropshire. In the afternoon and Autumn Waterloo winner Wayne Ditchfield makes the trip down, as well as major winner Dan Petcher and Danny Sillitoe from South Yorkshire. Lee Kington is a youngster to watch but there are some experienced heads like Cliff Johnson, Cedric Bancroft and Mark Thomas who will look to use their nous to qualify. Len Lewis qualified at Meole Brace last Sunday and hopes so again, with team mate Ben Allen there too. There are still 2 spaces left in each session.
