Ifton Player Profiles

Below are the profiles for the Ifton team in the 2017 KGJ Insurance County Cup Final.
Darren Lacey (Lace the Ace)
Back to his best this season and invaluable member of Iftons Squad. On his day right up there with the best of them and lethal on the green when on song.
Brian Hayes (Haysey)
The Elder Statesman who has bags of experience and knowledge and still bowls a mean game. Passion and commitment second to none and a top bloke and all round good guy.
Leighton Roberts (Lato)
Possibly the best player in Wales the past 2 seasons. Former Welsh Champion and IOM Winner who has the best concentration levels in a player you have ever seen and has the fantastic ability to play killer bowls at times.
Dave Jones (Dickie)
Captain who’s passion for Ifton is unrivalled. Silky smooth flawless delivery who needs to believe in himself more! Class act on his day and former Shropshire Champion and a member of a select band having represented 2 different counties at county level.
Nick (Little Dickie)
Brilliant player with the best bowls delivery in the game . Up there as Iftons best player and when on his game unplayable. Former Welsh Junior Champion who can reach great heights in the game if he wants to!
Craig Griffiths (Griffo/Naggy Head)
Stands tall on the bowling green in more ways than one. Coming back to form after a dip this season but oozes charisma and brilliance at times on the bowling green and a invaluable Ifton player.
Martin Jones (Bunting)
Drastic Improvement in his game the past few seasons with more to come and gives 110% in every game he plays. Once he gets on top of you on the green very hard to live with.
Geraint Williams (Jacko/Peppa pig)
Former Welsh Champion who has been a invaluable member of ifton for a long time with the experience he brings and one of our big characters on and off the green.
Richard Griffiths (Richie)
Called up for the final based on his experience on the Battlefield green from his George days in the tanners. Brilliant bowler and individual to have on the side of the green and Dickie will be wise in doing his utmost to persuade him to play Prem bowls in 2018 if Ifton avoid the drop.
David Bond (Bondy)
Quality player with bags of experience who has been playing well the past few seasons and deserving of more recognition for his performances in a Ifton shirt.
Kieran Roberts (Green Keeper)
Current Welsh Champion who is starting to reap the rewards that he puts into the game. Mr Bowls would play 7 days a week and Christmas day if he could. Another of Ifton's youngsters who can reach the games top heights. With ability like this why would you not!
Ian Metcalf (Metty)
Keen as Mustard! Another player who would play every day of the year if he could! Dip in recent Prem league form hasn’t stopped him from producing some great performances in Ifton's cup run. Always looking to improve his game and invaluable member of Ifton's squad.
Joey Williams (Joey)
Great addition to Iftons squad this season with years of experience. Struggled by his own admission but starting to get to grips with Ifton's big green and producing some good performances.
Sam Williams (Samo)
16 year old Sam already has 2 Welsh Junior Merit titles in the locker and is destined for great things in the game. Keeping his feet on the ground is the key for this talented youngster and Ifton's best signing in years!
Curtis Metcalf (Curtis)
Called up to the final on his recent great form. Another youngster who will only get better and better. Captain of Ifton's Whitchurch team and slowly assembling a quality side on a Tuesday.
Adrian Humphries (Ade)
Could be something special in a Ifton shirt. Struggled in his first season in Ifton's prem side but a natural talent who will get there the next few seasons with his ability.
