St Georges comfortably beat Bowring last night in the 2nd KGJ Insurance County Cup Semi Final to set up a final with Ifton. They won by 50 overall but only after being down off the first four and then having all 8 winners since then. Winning captain Tony Rhodes described the game. “Superb performance against a very talented team. So putting 50 on the board after being 2 behind after 4 was special. John Cooke was excellent against Dave King (to win 8). Glyn Picknell coming back from 8-17 to get 19 was a massive card for us and Jim Kellett and Pete Grimston won and played well. Clay Flattley’s 11 win was massive versus Josh Bradburn and really switched the momentum, being backed up by another momentum stopper with Mike Wainwright beating Rich Lawson. Ian Gaut beating an in form Reece Farr and back on song Nigel Evans winning sealed all 4 in the middle. We took all 4 in the back completed by Tom Langford’s 9 win sealed 8 winners on the bounce. Chuffed.”
So St Georges will play Ifton at a venue to be announced tomorrow night on here.
