Callum wins Midland Masters
Callum Wraight has won the 2016 Midland Masters today by beating Adam Kirby in a 21-20 thriller in the final. He had beaten Greg Smith for the second time in as many days in the Semi Finals 13, and Jamie Wyer 11 in the Quarters. He had received a walkover in the 1st round and had a close shave in the 2nd round when beating Ben Lynch 18, and then dispatched Dave Semper in the last 16 21-14. Team mate Clay Flattley had reached the Quarter Finals after beating Jack Williams 9, Andy Smith 20 and Josh Towey 13, before losing to Greg. Colin Beaman had lost to runner-up Adam 16 in the last 16 after defeating John Finch 15 and Matt Ford 17. Team mates Rob Fuller and John Clarke both won their 1st games 5 and 17 against Trevor Nichols and Mick Simpson respectively before losing to Josh Towey 19 and Brian Allen 16. Rich Lawson won his first two games against Jordon Baddeley 13 and Ed Furniss 18 before Kerry Morris beat him. Simon Rhodes won his first game 16 against George Wood before coming up against Greg Smith 2nd round. The Burway trio managed one win between them, Wayne Rogers beat Chris Baker 14 first game, but then lost to Andy Milsom 15, with Duncan Pressley and Jolyon Partridge beaten by Lyndon Hazelhurst 13 and Chris Halford 20 respectively. Pete Grimston was also beat 20 first game, losing to Jamie Wyer.
