Tonight sees one Semi Final and one Quarter Final in the Shropshire Cup. The remaining Quarter Final tie sees Telepost and Bricklayers clash at Allscott, with both teams at different ends of the Tanners Division One table. Telepost sit 2nd while Bricklayers sit 11th, however the Brick do have players in from their Wem League team, which helped them reach the County Cup Quarter Finals last month. Telepost captain Rob Jones says "this will be a very competitive game that will test both sides. The weather will obviously dictate the condition of the green but we aren't expecting it to be flying! Although we beat them in the Tanners League recently that result will have no relevance on this game whatsoever. It's a club competition not a team one so we are expecting to face a stronger side this time. There is sure to be plenty of noise and banter and hopefully we can come away with a positive result."
The Semi Final sees giantkillers Highley take on high flying Tanners side Prince Hotel on St Georges Bottom Green. Highley have beaten three Division One sides so far in the competition but captain Geoff Wylde says "we know nothing about the opposition so will go out to do our best as always. Still missing two possibly three players but we have a good squad and will hope to keep it close throughout then who knows." Prince Hotel captain Graeme Wornell also doesn't know much about the opposition. "Highley are an unknown quality but their league record and cup run says they are a solid side so the best team on the night will be in the final."
A reminder that all players must have played 6 league games by the Quarter Finals to be eligible tonight. Also dress code applies in the Semi Finals.Quarter Final:
