Geoff reaches Quarters!

Geoff Davies reached the Quarter Finals of the BCGBA Jack & Jean Isherwood Veterans Championship sponsored by Grocontinental before losing 14 to eventual winner Gerald Merry of Cheshire. He had two good close wins before then beating Bob Brown 19 and Tommy Heyes 20. Gerald went on to beat Ronald Regan 17 in the final at Prees. Our other qualifier …

Bowring lose out in 2nd round.

Bowring lost in the 2nd round of the World Club Championships after winning their first comfortably, just like the Sir John Bayley did a couple of weeks ago. The Bowring and Sir John Bayley have both accepted invitations to the 2017 BCGBA World Club Championship. Both teams from the Haygate Road in Wellington will represent Shropshire at Fox Lane in Leyland come March and April next season, with the draw done in the New Year.
